In the historic centre of Carovigno stands Casa La Gilda, a project designed by Studio Luca Baldazzi and featured in Elle Decor. This residence, created through the restoration of an eclectic building dating from the early 20th century, embodies the architect’s personal vision and his contemporary interpretation of Apulian architecture.
The house is designed around a concept inspired by a small archipelago of independent spaces, linked together by courtyards and open spaces.
The interiors combine authentic materials and handcrafted finishes, where textured plasterwork, natural surfaces and decorative Spanish tiles help to create a minimalist yet refined atmosphere, deeply rooted in the Mediterranean.
At the centre of this setting lies the 2.5 x 4.5-metre swimming pool, clad in vibrant green tiles and framed by tropical vegetation and a sunbathing area, transforming the entire complex into an exclusive and relaxing retreat in the heart of the historic city.
The interplay between polished concrete, hand-finished natural plasters and ceramic details with a graphic quality defines the character of the spaces. A delicate powder-pink hue, inspired by traditional shutters faded by the southern sun, accompanies the visitor from the entrance right through to the window frames and vertical architectural features.
The living area features a comfortable green sofa and a projection system for relaxing in the evening.
The indoor and outdoor spaces cover the same area – approximately 150 square metres each – creating a perfect balance between architecture and nature.
